Depotting Mac Eyeshadow and Blushes

I’ve seen a lot of depotting tutorials and this one is by far the best. It’s the one I use and I’ve never ever had a problem. It’s really simple and easy. Dustbunnies77 made it and it’s so great! The best part is that you have all this stuff at home. Your heat source is your flat iron and it makes the process quick so you can get on to enjoying your new palettes!

***UPDATE: Just picked up the Starflash collection! I got Sunset B., Top Hat, Dreammaker, and the Mystery eye Kohl. Look for the FOTD tomorrow!!!***

Kill One...Save A Thousand

Okay, yes I know I’ve seen “Wanted” too many times (3!) I will admit that after viewing number 2, I only went to see my favorite scenes. The film is so BA, especially Common who was looking SO RIGHT the whole movie. ….*takes a breather*

Anyway, besides Common, we all had to check out Angie who is always gorgeous and hardcore and she did not disappoint. She plays Fox, the only lead female assassin in the Fraternity. So naturally after watching the movie, I felt I needed to be as BA as she and attempted the smokey look of hers.

Fox’s look is pretty much dark brown shadows. That’s it, it looks darker and lighter in some scenes, but its brown (I should know! I’ve seen it enough! Lol). The reason why it took me so long to post this FOTD is because I did not have that certain shade of brown. I’d been looking for a while, no brown was dark enough. But then I got my Coastal Scents Neutral Palette in the mail and it had it. The Palette is WONDERFUL btw, velvety color, about the same size as a MAC shadow and very pigmented. It’s wonderful for bridal makeup too. So I was finally able to do it. Here it is!

Products Used:

Face:

MSF in Medium Plus

Eyes:

Painterly Paint Pot

Coastal Scents Neutral Palette – Brown and Black, the 3rd and 4th in the 7th column.

MAC e/s in Claire De Lune

Avon Black Luxury Liner

Lash Blast Mascara

Falsies

1. Apply Painterly Paint Pot over lid and a little above your crease, also on your lower lash line.

2. Apply the brown shadow over Painterly, more densely near your lash line and lid and blend out. I used Avon’s eyeshadow brush, it’s so little and precise, but any will do. Use a pencil brush to apply the brown shadow to your lower lash line. I used MAC’s 219.

3. Now here is what makes the look work in my opinion. Using quick dabbing motions, add a little of the black shadow onto a crease brush, I used MAC’s 224. Buff lightly over your lid, you want the brown to be visible, but we’re just adding a little more depth. Line your lower lash lightly with the black using your pencil brush again.

4. Using the same crease brush, apply Clair de Lune as a highlight and buff it into the edges of your brown shadow to blend out.

5. Applying falsies are optional. Angelina did in the movie so I added them also.

6. Line your lower waterline with black eyeliner of your choice.

And you’re done!

Read My Lips

Whoa. My blog roll has grown out of control....and i like it! I love reading everyone’s posts, keep it going guys.

Today's post is a tutorial on how I make my own exfoliator. I know there are a bajillion diferent recipes out there, but this is what works for me, so I'll share it with all of you. Its my first video so the quality isn't as good as expected, but the next will be better.

Products Used:
Milk and Honey - both are extremely moisturizing
Lemon Juice - helps to even out you complexion
Brown and White Sugar - exfoliation

Also, by request of Jill, I'm going to show how I apply a red lip color. I rarely wear red, as it stands out so much on me, but there are certain occasions where I really love it and everyone should be able to pull off a red lip color sometimes. The key is finding the correct shade of red, and it isn't as easy as it sounds.

Remember, pause the music player at the right before playing the video.

A few simple things to remember:

The shade that works best for you depends on your skin tone. If your skin tone is cool pink undertones, like mine, blue-reds, berries, and plums work best for you. Not orangey reds, trust me I've tried. Orangey and golden reds work best on someone with warm skin.

Take your time, red is such a pain trying to clean up, better to go slow and take your time.

Go easy with the rest of your makeup. With a bold red lip, you don't need much else. You only need one focal point on your face. Understate your eye and face makeup when wearing red lip color.

FOTD – Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming…

So I labeled this post swimming because the colors remind me of the deep blues and teals of the ocean. Not the best lighting, but I’m sure you guys can get the picture. =}. I usually always wear eyeliner, but I thought the colors were vibrant and dark enough that I didn’t need any this time around.

Let's Put A Smile On That Face

Morning All,

Just thought I’d start off this Monday morning with a few updates.

First off, I saw Batman: The Dark Knight at the midnight viewing on Thursday and again Yesterday at the IMAX. It was phenomenal! Best movie I’d seen in a long time if not ever. Everything I expected it to be and more. If it doesn’t win an Oscar, that thing is seriously rigged and corrupt. Heath Ledger was the best joker I’ve ever seen, even better than Jack Nicholson. I will not go into detail because I could go on and on and I don’t want to ruin it for those who haven’t seen it.

But anyway, my sister and I loved it soo much, she decided to have Joker inspired makeup when we went to see it at the IMAX.

Products Used:

Eyes:

MAC e/s in Knight Divine…how ironic…

MAC e/s in Carbon

Stila Smudge Pot in Black

Two Faced Lash Injections Mascara

Lips:

Chanel Lipliner in Spice

Chanel Rouge Allure Satin Lipstick in Dazzling

Moving on, I’ve been recently contacted by Teisha Alston of Motives Custom Cosmetics (www.cndenterprises.com) and she’s given me some makeup to use, play with, and do some reviews on. One of Motives Custom Cosmetics claim to fame is their promise of authentic and never-duplicated products. Along with makeup products, they also have a skincare line. I’ll be experimenting with these products this week, especially the lip colors and eye shadow, and be sure to pass on my information and thoughts with all of you!

Ciao!
